At the April 23rd meeting of the Broomall Rotary Club, Officer Steve Benecke was presented with the Officer of the Year Award. Officer Benecke is a 1988 Bonner graduate. He was a 911 dispatcher for 14 years before becoming a member of the Marple Township Police Department in 2005. Steve has received several commendations and awards and has been credited with saving several lives. Chief Tom Murray commended him for his visible presence in the community helping to deter careless drivers and improve safety for the general public.
